Paul is running for Congress because:

  • He is tired of sitting on the sidelines while the economy is not doing well and regular people are bearing the brunt of the problems.
  • He wants to bring common sense Louisiana values to congress.
  • He wants to end the partisan bickering in Washington and change the direction of the country.
  • He has a 30 year record in law enforcement, as Caddo D.A., and he knows what it takes to reduce crime and keep criminals off the streets.

The Economy:

  • In Congress Paul will focus on creating jobs and restoring strength to our economy.
  • Washington has our economy on the wrong track and spending is not in check.
  • Paul will end corporate welfare for companies that are shipping good paying American jobs overseas.

Leaving Iraq with honor:

  • Paul believes we should leave Iraq, but we must do so with honor.
  • We are spending too much money in Iraq and not enough at home where we need it. It is putting the country in financial jeopardy.
  • We must take care of our veterans: The heroes who put their lives on the line to fight for our country bymaking sure that they have the best healthcare when they return home.

The Middle Class pay too much in taxes:

  • Paul opposes higher taxes and new taxes, especially for the middle class and small businesses. The wealthy and big corporations that move American jobs overseas should pay more of their fair share.
  • Paul will look for opportunities to make the tax system fairer for working people, the middle class and small businesses.
  • Louisiana families deserve tax relief and tax cuts that put money back in their pocket!

Education is the key to opportunity:

  • Education begins at home with strong families.
  • Paul will push for legislation that gives Northwest Louisiana schools the resources they need to educate young people.
  • Paul will fight to make college more affordable and access to technical schools, community colleges and job training more available.

Making us Energy Independent:

  • Energy solutions are found right here in Northwest Louisiana with the Haynesville Shale discovery.
  • Paul’s plan to reduce energy prices and create more jobs for people in Louisiana involves increasing drilling for new reserves of natural gas and oil right here at home to end our dependence on foreign oil.
  • Paul will push for legislation that calls for investment in more renewable resources to create jobs and stimulate the economy.
